Liz Stevenson Sports Therapist
Liz founded Sports & Remedial Therapy Clinic in June 2015 after leaving the Crown Hotel where she ran a successful Spa & Sports Therapy Team and before that assisted in managing the Health and Fitness Team.
Liz is a qualified and accredited Advanced Level 5 Clinical Sports Therapist, Medical Acupuncture and QINOpractic Practitioner, fully insured with over 15 years experience within the health, fitness and Sports Therapy Industry. She is a specialist in prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries sustained during work, leisure or competition. As qualified Sports Therapist Liz and the team can advise on prevention of injuries and can examine, assess and treat those that do occur, as well as helping with the rehabilitation process.
She has a wealth of experience to return patients to full functional sporting or occupational fitness. As a qualified fitness, spinning, rowing Instructor, Personal Trainer, massage, sports massage and advanced sports therapist, Liz has been very grateful to have worked with lots of people on all different levels including work colleagues, general public, sporting spectators, sporting athletes from a whole host of sporting backgrounds and varying abilities, to celebrities including pop and film.
Liz is very passionate about sport and has been from a very young age and enjoyed playing many different sports such as ladies hockey for Scarborough, ladies football for Scarborough before being scouted for Middlesbrough to play in the Northern Premiership Division. She is also a keen gym user and runner and over the years have competed in cross country, trail and road running events.
From this Liz's past experiences and injuries have enhanced her knowledge no end giving her a greater understanding of the body, the demands that can be placed upon the body both physically and mentally and the injuries that can occur from it. Liz also understands how recovering from an injury needs to be as quick and effective as possible.
Liz thoroughly loves all aspects of the job and especially looks forward to meeting new people and seeing regular faces at clinic on a day to day basis.
Continuing to further her knowledge and education, Liz continuously attends courses and training seminars to ensure the latest and most effective treatments are available for her clients, ensuring that everyone finishing treatment, leaves feeling better than they did prior to their specific complaint.
